ADDITION AND DELETION METHOD OF ACTIVE BASE STATION IN SOFT HAND-OFF IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An addition and deletion method of active base station in soft hand-off in the mobile communication system is provided not to request unnecessary soft hand-off, and to remove pilots larger than T_ADD but very smaller than the signal strength of pilots existing in an active set. CONSTITUTION: The pilot signal strength of a non-active base station is compared with a static hand-off parameter T_ADD. If the pilot signal strength of the non-active base station is larger than a static hand-off parameter T_ADD, the pilot signal strength of a first non-active base station is measured. The pilot signal strength of the first non-active base station is compared with a dynamic hand-off parameter T_DOMINANT. If the pilot signal strength of the first active base station is larger than a dynamic hand-off parameter T_DOMINANT, the difference of the pilot signal strength of the non-active base station and the pilot signal strength of the first active base station is compared with a dynamic hand-off parameter T_DELTA_ADD. If the difference of the pilot signal strength of a non-active base station and the pilot signal strength of the first active base station is smaller than the dynamic hand-off parameter T_DELTA_ADD, pilots of the non-active base station are requested additionally to the active set.
