PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for preventing printing error in network printers are provided so that wrong data transmitted to the printer from a host computer but not desired to print is not printed continuously by comparing the page description data for a certain page with an image data of the printer before performing printing thereof. CONSTITUTION: A method for preventing printing error in network printers includes the steps of transmitting a page description language(PDL) data according to a printing instruction and an expecting output information on the page additionally generated corresponding to the PDL from a host, comparing the expecting output information with the PDL data on the page, and then canceling the printing operation when the expecting output information is out of the range of the printing data in a predetermined degree, or otherwise performing the printing operation, wherein the certain page is a first page of a document and the expecting output information is a bit map image.
