PURPOSE: A block type dielectric filter is provided to prohibit harmonic components by differently forming the diameter in the front and rear sections of a resonant hole. CONSTITUTION: A block type dielectric filter includes a dielectric block(300) of a rectangular parallelepiped shape in which two parallel cylindrical resonant holes(310,320) are formed to pass through the dielectric block(300). The dielectric block(300) has an open face without an electrode layer at is front side and has a short face with an electrode layer at is rear side. A rectangular groove(330) for forming a coupling inductor for an inductive coupling is formed in the short face, from which some of the dielectric block(300) is removed. The groove(330) also connects edges of respective resonant holes(310,320). In addition, input/output ports(340,342) of a given pattern, and impedance matching gaps(350,352) for separating the input/output ports(340,342) from other portions of the dielectric block(300) and for adjusting input/output impedance are formed at an upper edge region on the right and left sides of the dielectric block(300).
