PURPOSE: A temperature sensing apparatus of projection TV and a status check method using the same are provided to sense temperature by attaching a temperature sensing element. CONSTITUTION: A temperature sensing apparatus of projection TV comprises first and second mirror(124,126), a prism(130), a reflection type LCD(132) having a temperature sensing element(134), a display(138), a micom(136), a forth mirror(140), a screen(144) and a projection lens(142). The reflection type LCD(132) reflects incident light to generate an image. The prism(130) radiates the incident light in desired direction. The micom(136) displays the set status of the temperature sensed from the temperature sensing element(134) on the display(138). The projection lens(142) expands and transmits the incident light to be oriented to the screen(144).
