A method for the waterproofing of joints and/or cracks (11) in the upstream face (10) of dams, other hydraulic works and concrete or masonry structures. A waterproofing membrane (13), comprising a strip of elastically yieldable synthetic material, is fastened to the surface (10) to be protected along the whole joint and/or crack (11), after previous positioning of sliding elements (14, 15) onto the surface (10) to support the membrane (13), and of a protection and sliding substrate (18, 19) properly fastened independently from the waterproofing membrane (13); in this way the waterproofing membrane (13) is allowed to freely elongate and follow the movements of the joint and/or the crack (11) while maintaining a water tightening condition. |
