A method of processing video signals in a field emission display provides an input signal (110) having pixel data which indicates an intensity level. The intensity level is looked up in a look-up table and a corresponding correction factor is retrieved. The input signal (110) is modified to provide for gamma correction and white color balance. Thereafter, a corrected output signal (114) is sent to a field emission display.
