PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display(LCD) is to simplify a photo lithographic process by reducing the step number of the process and increase a degree of interlayer insulation in a thin film transistor substrate for the display. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display comprises a gate line and a common electrode line on a substrate(100). On these lines, a first metal layer formed of a gate insulation film(400), an amorphous silicon layer(500), a doped amorphous silicon layer(510) and a chromium and a second metal layer formed of aluminum are orderly deposited. These metal layers are simultaneously patterned to form a data line, a pixel electrode, a source electrode and a drain electrode and their auxiliary layers. The doped amorphous silicon layer is etched with the auxiliary layers as a mask and a protection film(900) is deposited. After the protection film, the amorphous silicon layer and the gate insulation film are simultaneously patterned, an organic insulation film is deposited to be flattened.
