PURPOSE: A frequency demodulation apparatus and the method thereof are provided to achieve the frequency demodulation by using the approximation of arcsin. Furthermore, the frequency demodulation apparatus for the SECAM(Sequential Couleur Avec Memory or Sequential Color with Memory) color demodulation is provided to achieve the frequency demodulation by using the approximation of arcsin for the color difference signal components transmitted in the SECAM method. CONSTITUTION: A frequency demodulation apparatus consists of a first ADC(Analog to Digital Converter)(10), a first oscillator(12), a multiplication(14), a first LPF(Low Pass Filter)(16), a first de-emphasis part(18), a first frequency differential part(20) and a first gain compensation part(22). The first ADC(10), sampling a frequency-demodulated signal, converts it into a digital signal. The first oscillator(12) outputs a first oscillation signal. The multiplication(14) carries out the multiplication for the sampling value and the oscillation signal. The first frequency differential part(20) outputs the frequency-demodulated digital signal.
