PURPOSE: A remote control system for home appliance using internet is provided to decrease a cost and a time by controlling an internet VCR located in a user's home using a visual remote controller in the case that the user is exist at a remote place. CONSTITUTION: A main memory(3) is used when a program stored in a program ROM(2) is performed. A flash memory(4) stores personal information such as an internet book mark, an electronic mail, a received message, and a telephone directory book. A CPU(1) performs a program, performs an internet connection, and performs a communication with a remote place in which a user is existed. A VCR command interface unit(9) interprets a VCR command outputted from the CPU(1) and outputs the interpreted command to a corresponding mechanism. A VCR mechanism(10) performs a recording and a reproduction according to a command provided from the VCR command interface unit(9). A video unit(5) processes a picture of the internet communication and outputs the processed picture to a TV or a VCR. A sound processing unit(6) interprets an audio signal generated during the internet communication.
