PURPOSE: A roof assembly for a vehicle protects passengers safely on the collision of a vehicle by improving the structural strength thereof. CONSTITUTION: An inner/outer reinforcing panels(22,23) are inserted between an inner/outer roof panels(10,11), which are joined to an inner/outer frames(12,13) of a vehicle at one ends thereof. The reinforcing panels(22,23) are crossed with each other and mounted to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The reinforcing panels(22,23) are overlapped at some portion where a deformation due to impact is especially plentifully generated, thereby elevating a rigidity. Further, the reinforcing panels(22,23) are bent to form closed spaces therein and has many holes formed thereon at the middle portions thereof to increase the rigidities thereof and reduce the weights thereof. If an impact is acted on the vehicle, the distortion of a roof assembly is minimized by the action of the closed spaces, thereby improving the safety of passengers.
