PURPOSE: A command interface method between an NMS(Network Management System) and an NE(Network Element) in a TMN(Telecommunication Management Network) is provided to execute necessary commands through NEs and to receive an execution result, without new GDMO(Guidelines for Definition of Managed Objects) definition for each managed object and correction work in a network element, by defining a command interface management object so as to execute a management function for an NE not comprised in a managed object. CONSTITUTION: A network management center inputs a command string to be executed in an NE to an operation and maintenance center through a user interface(30). The inputted command string is converted into the action information argument of action information for an m-action operation(32). The operation and maintenance center transfers the m-action operation to a network management agent(34). If the m-action is executed, the measurement of a reply time for the operation is started(36). the network management agent confirms whether a timer value exceeds a threshold for the m-action(38). In case that the timer value doesn't exceed the threshold, a result for the m-action is received from the network management agent(40). A command execution result is extracted from the received result. The reply data are displayed on the user interface screen(44). If the timer value doesn't exceed the threshold, an error message is displayed on the user interface screen(42).
