<p>To separate waste mixtures which contain in particular plastic mixtures in a separation liquid whose density is adjusted such that it is between the densities of the solids to be separated so that float material and sink material result, according to the invention it is proposed to use as separation liquid a mixture of water and an alkaline metal carbonate. Such mixtures give separation liquids having densities up to 1.5 g/cm<3>, they are non-toxic and the residues remaining in the separated solids are unproblematic for subsequent processes. At the same time, these separation liquids advantageously additionally act as cleaning agents, as a result of which adhering contaminants can be removed more easily from the solid particles to be separated.</p> |
