For attachment to a road vehicle seat, the child seat comprises a seat part, a back rest and a catchment table. On each side surface of the catchment table (9) slot slides (11) are provided, which over their length have several securing recesses (12) directed crossways to their longitudinal extent. The catchment table is height-adjustably held on supports laterally extending on both sides of the seat part. The slot slides by tipping the catchment table out of its usage position around a horizontal axis parallel to the back rest (2) can be brought into alignment with the longitudinal axis of a notched slide unit (13).
