According to the invention, at least one strip of material (6) is applied to the protective layer (4) and each strip (6) is fastened to the protective layer (4) by means of an elonga te join (11), wherewith a weakening line is produced in each elongate join. The invention also relates to a product that includes a protective layer that includes gripping tabs in accordance with the invention.
