Transmission of data from facsimile apparatus in telecommunications network to opposite subscriber apparatus to which is coupled data bank

The characteristics of the facsimile apparatus, call number, and name of subscriber are stored in an internal memory and are exchanged with opposite apparatus at start of data transmission. A data bank is coupled to the called opposite apparatus. After positive set-up of connection to the data bank, the name and call number of subscriber are transmitted by a data signal to the data bank. Then the address of the subscriber is similarly transmitted. The data bank transmits the data as a transmission signal back to the facsimile apparatus for checking and, on a positive result, a text page is transmitted by the data bank to facsimile apparatus for checking the set-up.
