The asparagus-cutter detects the asparagus in the ground by means of a sensor (1). A knife cuts off the asparagus automatically and is raised to throw the asparagus into a container. A crate (4) is automatically driven on a steel frame with 4 rubber wheels and driven by a diesel engine (3). A driver's seat on the chassis is for steering and supervising. Holes are made in the earth; a sun or wet-weather cover covers the appliance.
