An assembly removes soil especially clay from vegetable such as asparagus. The assembly has a frame (22) incorporating a series of brush (5) cleaning units (23) arranged in series in the direction of vegetable travel. The cleaning brushes are arranged at an angle with respect to each other and rotate on articulated (2) supports (4). Each support has two brushes moving in contra-rotation.
