A microwave amplifier comprises a field-effect transistor (1) whose ground terminal (2) is connected directly with a ground conductor pattern (11). The ground terminal (2) is also connected with a series circuit that includes a stabilizing resistor (12) and an open-end stub (13) having a length equal to 1/4 wavelength of the parallel resonance frequency. This suppresses undesirable parallel resonance due to the ground conductor pattern (11) and the open-end stub (5) and prevents the voltage drop across the stabilizing resistor (3) at the application of bias to the field-effect transistor as opposed to the prior art technology, resulting in stable operation of the microwave amplifier.
