PURPOSE: A method for controlling the speed of a pinch roll for preventing slip is provided to prevent a speed change caused by slip and to prevent the slip of a slave roll as well as a mater roll by finding a factor of slip generation, calculating the amount of slip, and by compensating electric current for the slip generating energy. CONSTITUTION: A slip coefficient is calculated by using the difference of speed. Herein, a related coefficient is obtained from electric current and difference of speed for calculating the slip coefficient. Then, a slip energy and the controlling amount of electric current are calculated. Herein, the slip energy is the changed amount of transferring force for a pinch roll according to the slip. Then, the slip energy is decided if exceeding a safe scope. If the slip energy exceeds the safe scope, the controlling amount of electric current corresponding to the compensated electric current value is outputted to be returned to an initial step. If the slip energy does not exceed the safe scope, the slip energy is returned to the initial step.
