PURPOSE: A catalytic converter for the increase of effective area is provided to improve purifying efficiency of exhaust gas by elevating the efficiency of effective area of a catalyst body and to strengthen durability by reducing degradation by removing the concentration of hot exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: In a catalytic converter(10), a noxious exhaust gas generated in an engine is purified to chemical free exhaust gas while passing through a catalyst body(14) after being flowed in via an inflow part(11), and then the exhaust gas is discharged via a gas discharge part(12). The catalyst body is placed in a certain angular degrees to the flow direction of the exhaust gas by a housing(13), so the exhaust gas is dispersed uniformly, and contacts to each cell of a carrier composing the catalyst wider. And the effective area efficiency is elevated by the wide contact of the exhaust gas to the cell area.
