PURPOSE: A method of controlling an audio device is provided to automatically turn on/off the digital processing function according to a radio-field strength on receiving a radio broadcasting, thereby reducing a noise level and improving sound quality. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of: checking if the preset wait time is lapsed,if the power of an audio device turns on, and if the audio device is operating on a radio mode; if so, comparing a radio-field strength of radio wave received from a radio tuner with a radio-receivable strength; if the radio-field strength is not more than the radio-receivable strength, checking if digital processing function has been turned on, and if so, switching the on-state thereof to the off-sate; if the radio-field strength is more than the radio-receivable strength, checking if digital processing function has been turned off, and if so, switching the off-state thereof to the on-sate; and setting the wait time when the on/off processing for the digital processing function has been completed.
