PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma address liquid crystal display is to increase a driving speed of the liquid crystal display, while keeping a high resolution of the liquid crystal display. CONSTITUTION: A method for driving a plasma address liquid crystal display, which comprises a discharging channel formed on an upper portion of a first to n th scan lines, and a cathode and an anode formed in the discharging channel, divides a screen into m numbers and drives the first to L th scan lines of a first to m th blocks in order in every horizontal period. The number(m) of the blocks is set responding to a time when a data is addressed during one horizontal period. The number(L) of the scan lines formed within the blocks is corresponded to a value that the number(n) of scan lines formed on the screen is divided by the number(m) of the blocks.
