PURPOSE: An image pick-up/displaying apparatus of a multimedia system is to simultaneously realize both a display function and image pick-up function at the panel. CONSTITUTION: In a panel(6), a plurality of image pick-up devices are respectively aligned among a plurality of image display devices aligned in the form of a matrix to display an image on the panel. A driving portion(12) drives each image display device on the panel to display a desired image. An amplifying portion(14) amplifies an image signal on the panel to be used at a next stage. The image display device is an LCD(liquid crystal display). The image pick-up device is a CCD(charge coupled device). Therefore, the desired image is displayed on the panel and, at the same time, an image of a user is picked-up by the CCD in the panel, thereby improving quality of a picture communication and simplifying the hardware structure of the apparatus.
