PURPOSE: A wired and wireless pointing apparatus having a pointing input part of two types and a computer system employing the apparatus, are provided to make the input part operated as the first type when it is installed in a computer, and operated as the second type when it is not installed therein. CONSTITUTION: A pointing apparatus(300) includes a sense pad(340) that serves as a touch pad, and a key pad(330) for inputting a key. At the front of the pointing apparatus(300), an access connector(310) and a wireless transmission part are provided. A switch detects that the pointing apparatus(300) is installed and separated onto/from a portable computer system. A lug(370) with a mechanical structure prevents the pointing apparatus(300) installed onto the computer system from being separated. A boll is installed on the bottom of the pointing apparatus(300), and extruded from the bottom thereof. A battery(360) is prepared on the back side of the pointing apparatus(300). |
