The invention relates to a device for monitoring the transportation of a strip-shaped support (10, 54) in a printing device. The rotational movement of a drive roll (12) is reproduced by a first sensor (18, 48) in the form of a first sequence of electrical impulses. The forward movement of the support (10, 54) is reproduced by a second sensor (24, 38) in the form of a second sequence of electrical impulses. The temporal interval (TW, TB, TW1, TW2) between two impulses of either sequence of impulses corresponds to a particular completed angle of rotation or path. A control device (22) determines the ratio of the temporal intervals (TW, TB, TW1, TW2) of the two sequences of impulses and the printing operation is controlled according to this ratio. |
