A service ID number settlement system comprises a settlement terminal, an information terminal, and a settlement authentication device interconnected through a network. The settlement authentication device stores an ID number and a specified amount of money to be received previously allotted to the ID number. When the information terminal is operated and the operation includes input of ID number, a service providing unit provides a service for the information terminal through the network. The settlement authentication device subtracts the charge for the amount of provided service ID from the amount of money received, and the remainder is made the balance. A medium on which at least the ID number is recorded is provided. The settlement terminal reads out the ID number from the medium and transmits the ID number to the settlement authentication device through the network. In response to the transmission, the settlement authentication device makes effective the use of the ID number. |
