METHOD FOR PROCESSING MULTIMEDIA CALL IN CELLULAR SYSTEM WITH HIERARCHICAL STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: A method for processing multimedia call in cellular system with hierarchical structure is provided to offer an excellent quality of a service by assigning a cell layer and a channel according to a velocity of a mobile station and a kind of call. CONSTITUTION: A call is received to a base station and a channel assignment is requested(501). The call is temporarily stored in an infinite buffer when the call is an audio mail or a paging(503). It is judged as to whether a channel remained in the base station is existed(504). A channel is assigned when the channel remained in the base station is existed(505). It is judged as to whether a channel remained in the base station is existed when the call is not the audio mail or the paging(506). It is judged as to whether the call is a new audio call or a new data call to be sensitive to a delay when the channel remained in the base station is not existed(507). The call is closed when the call is the new audio call or the new data call to be sensitive to a delay(508). It is judged as to whether the call is a hand-off audio signal(509). It is judged as to whether a storing space remained in a limited buffer is existed when the call is the hand-off audio signal(510). The hand-off data call is stored in the limited buffer when the storing space remained in the limited buffer is existed(511).
