PURPOSE: A method for transferring variable isochronous data is provided to transfer the isochronous data by using remnant bandwidth, which is not used for transferring the isochronous data in an allotted channel. CONSTITUTION: A remnant gap having a time gap larger than an isochronous gap and smaller than subsidiary action gap is detected. If the remnant gap is detected, a first isochronous re-establishing gap having the time gap larger than the remnant gap and smaller than the subsidiary action gap is detected. When the isochronous re-establishing gap is detected, the existence of a remnant bandwidth is checked for isochronous transferring. When the isochronous re-establishing gap is not detected, the existence of transfer in the present isochronous re-establishing gap is checked. Herein, if the remnant bandwidth is existed, an isochronous packet is transferred. Moreover, a second isochronous re-establishing gap having the time gap larger than the remnant gap and smaller than the subsidiary action gap is detected. When the isochronous re-establishing gap is detected, the gap is branched to a checking step of remnant bandwidth. When the isochronous re-establishing gap is not detected, the transferring section of variable isochronous data is finished for branching to an asynchronous section.
