Pits formed according to a first set of data to be recorded and constituting a track together with lands between the pits are deformed according to a second set of data so as to effect recording. The first and second sets of data are combinedly reproduced, thereby realizing audio reproduction of wide frequency band. The first set of data can be reproduced by a conventional disk reproducing device. The reproduction of the first set of data is controlled by using the second set of data so as to protect the recorded data.
