PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for automatically testing function of voice mail system are provided so as to test the voice processing function of the voice mail system without an additional and special call tester. CONSTITUTION: A reference voice processor unit(70) stores an inputted DTMF(Dual Tone Multi Frequency ) tone according to a record control signal and outputs the DTMF tone, according to a regeneration control signal. A relative voice processor unit(75) stores an inputted DTMF tone according to a record control signal and outputs the DTMF tone according to a regeneration control signal. A switch(60) connects a call from the reference voice processor unit(70) to the relative voice processor unit(75) according to a selection control signal. A control unit(50) outputs the record control signal and the regeneration control signal to the reference voice processor unit(70) and the relative voice processor unit(75), outputs the selection control signal to the switch(60), and discriminates an inputted DTMF tone.
