PURPOSE: A switch control method for delivering a subscriber guiding announcement in an asynchronous transfer mode exchange system is provided to steadily supply guiding announcements for STM (synchronous transfer mode) subscribers in an ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) interlocking switching system, in which an STM switch and an ATM switch coexist. CONSTITUTION: A switch control method according to the present invention comprises the following steps: When there is a request for delivery of a guiding announcement from a subscribers control block (ASC), a switch band is allocated in an ATM switch management block (step 1); an STM switch is connected to an ATM switch, and a guiding announcement is delivered (step 2); when the guiding announcements are completely delivered, the used switch sources are redeemed (step 3). The switch control method according to the present invention also includes a recording medium, which can read a program with a computer for realizing the following three functions: When there is a request for delivery of a guiding announcement from the ASC, allocates the switch band in the ATM switch management block (function 1); the STM switch is connected to the ATM switch, and a guiding announcement is delivered (function 2); when the guiding announcements are completely delivered, the used switch sources are redeemed (function 3).
