PURPOSE: An in-line electron gun with improved astigmatism is provided to make design easier, and to reduce a radius deviation of a green pixel by use of an auxiliary electrode. CONSTITUTION: An in-line electron gun with improved astigmatism includes three cathodes(2r,2g,2b), a plurality of electrodes(4), and a rectangular slot(80). The plurality of electrodes(4) intensify or diverse thermo-electrons generated from the cathodes(2r,2g,2b). The three cathodes(2r,2g,2b) are placed in a same plane. A free focus lens and a main focus lens are formed in the electron gun by the plurality of electrodes(4). The rectangular slot(80) limiters a central green aperture within a vertical movement. The electric field affected by a green electron beam form the aperture is weak relative to neighboring red, blue electron beam.
