PURPOSE: A method of displaying a background image of a TV is to integrally provide a compact disk player with the TV to provide various background images in a compact disk mode of the TV, thereby unifying a part of constructing components. CONSTITUTION: Whether a TV integrally having a compact disk player(43) is operated in a compact disk mode is decided. If the TV is in the compact disk mode, a corresponding background image is displayed according to a kind of compact disk to be reproduced. If an external background image switching key is input, a TV signal or an external video signal is displayed as the background image. A micro-computer(42) memorizes a kind of compact disk reproduced by a compact disk reproducing system(41). When the compact disk is reproduced in the compact disk player and the external background image switching key is input, a switch(45) is connected to a TV signal receiver(44).
