PURPOSE: A plasma display panel of DC type and a method for driving the same is provided to increase a discharge efficiency by applying a high frequency voltage on a path of a charged particle to extend the path of the charged particle. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel of DC type includes discharge cells implemented in matrix formation, a first and a second plate(30,34) facing each other, a cathode(32) formed on the first plate, a compartment(36), an anode(38) formed on the second plate, an auxiliary anode(40), and a first and a second high voltage electrode(44,46). The compartment is formed between the first and the second plate and provides a discharge area(31) and an auxiliary discharge area(33). The auxiliary anode is formed on the auxiliary discharge area on the second plate. The first and the second high voltage electrode are formed on the upper and lower part of the compartment respectively. |
