PURPOSE: A mask frame and a cathode ray tube using the mask frame is provided to compensate for a doing using a mask frame of improved thermal extension characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A mask frame and a cathode ray tube using the mask frame includes a mask frame(10). Four skirt(24b) of the shadow mask are supported around the inner circle. The mask frame includes four support sides. Two terminals of each support side are not secured by the other terminals of adjacent support side in order to extend freely in the direction of translation.
