PURPOSE: A steel cord for reinforcing a rubber product is provided to maintain the cutting load of steel cord and the adhesive property of rubber in order to increase the durability of tire by improving a characteristic of inner curved exhaustion and to reduce the fuel efficiency by reducing a diameter of cord, improving workability of dealing and to secure the structural safety. CONSTITUTION: When two strands(10a)(10b) are connected in an adhesive state, a steel cord(10) is formed its top portion and its lower part of Y axial direction in a periodical flat face(fs) by a load added at milling. A contact part of strands(10a)(10b) formed the periodical flat face(fs) is flattened by compressing each other by the load. Therefore, a diameter is reduced than a connected diameter of Y axial direction before milling. The flat face(fs) of steel cord is periodically formed in an interval of half pitch as two strands(10a)(10b) are formed in a part arranged in the Y axial direction. But a sectional form of carding is not changed before and after milling in a part arranged two strands in an X direction.
