PURPOSE: An electron gun for color cathode ray tube is provided to prevent moire phenomenon of screen image and that brightness is decreased relatively at screen circumstance by preventing lateral enlargement of electron beam at screen circumstance. CONSTITUTION: A fronting triode part is composed of cathode(11), control electrode(12), screen electrode(13), and a subsidiary electron lens. Main lens are composed of the first(14), second(15), third(16), fourth(17), and fifth(18) focus electrode, and final acceleration electrode(19) is installed. Lateral enlargement type electron beam pass hole(16H)(17H) is formed at exit side(16b)(17b) of above the third, fourth focus lens(16)(17), longitudinal enlargement type electron beam pass hole(17H')(18H') is formed at incident side(17a)(18a) of above the fourth, fifth focus lens(17)(18). And focus voltage(VF) is licensed at the first, third, fifth focus electrode(14)(16)(18), dynamic focus voltage(VD), which considers above focus voltage(VF) as basis voltage, is licensed at the four focus electrode(17), and static voltage(VS) lower than focus voltage(VF) is licensed at the second focus electrode(15).
