<p>The chain link support is formed by side elements joined by cross bars which form a rigid support which is extended as the feed follows the working unit. To improve the lateral stability of the chain, the links on one side have shaped grooves (7) formed by a stepped profile on the side of each link. These grooves grip the leading edge (8) of the adjacent links to form a rigid structure. The groove and the edge profiles form parts of a circle whose centre is one of the cross bars. The edge profile has a thickness less than that of the edge link. The amount of rotation of each element with respect to the next is limited by stops.</p> |
