In the present invention there is disclosed an attenuated virus strain causing pig disease known as pig reproduction and respiration syndrome (PRRS) that completely corresponds to a deposit with number I-1642 in CNCM Institut Pasteur deposited on November 23, 1995. In the present invention there is also indicated a cellular clone C8 CNCMI-1643 in which the PRRS virus is capable of replication up to high titer 10e5 to 10e7 TCIDi50/ml. In the present invention there are further claimed a process for preparing such virus, a vaccine containing thereof and its preparation process as well as the use of the attenuated virus strain for preparing the vaccine.
