The proposed method of transmitting messages in a radio paging system comprises steps of reception message content, determination whether the message content contains information being longer than the predetermined message length, storage of the message content into a memory device provided the message content exceeds the predetermined message length and transmission of predetermined message in a receiver of a radio paging system through the mediation of a first communication path, where the predetermined message indicates that the message content is stored in the memory device. The invented method further comprises steps of communication with the radio paging system receiver through the mediation of a second communication path, search of the message content in the memory device and transmission of the message content to the radio paging system receiver through the mediation of the second communication path. The transmitter with a receiver of selective calling for making the above described method consists of a high-frequency receiver (214) for communication with a terminal (32) of the radio paging system through the mediation of the first communication path, decoder (216) that is connected with the high-frequency receiver (214), a control unit (220) being connected with the decoder (216) and a telephone system section (205) comprised of transmitter with receiver and being connected with a unit (220) for communication with the radio paging system terminal (32) through the mediation of the second communication path.
