<p>The hinge, between a spectacle frame side-piece (5) and a lug (1), consists of two plates (20, 22) fixed to the lug, having apertures (30, 32) for a ball (40) fixed to the end of the side-piece. The ball, which can be made from a semi-precious stone or ceramic, has a cylindrical shoulder (44) which fits into the lower plate aperture (32) with a plastic ring (52). The hinge is assembled and tensioned by two screws (11, 17) passing through holes (13, 19) in the lower plate and engaging with threaded spacers (15, 23) on the upper one.</p> |
