TEST EQUIPMENT AND METHOD FOR TAPE CARRIER PACKAGE

PURPOSE: A test equipment and a method for a tape carrier package are provided to accurately detect defective portions by classifying the defect of leads into two kinds and performing testing while varying an illuminating mode in accordance with the defective kinds. CONSTITUTION: An illuminator(90) irradiates light to leads(20) of a TCP(Tape Carrier Package). A camera(70) captures the image of the leads(20). An image processor(80) processes the captured image to determine the defect of the leads(20). The illuminator(90) consists of a halogen light source(91), and an optical guide irradiating the light from the halogen light source(91) to the leads(20) through an optical fiber. The optical guide consists of a dome type optical guide(92) and a reflective type optical guide(93).
