PURPOSE: Equipment for checking recovery capacity of a hydraulic valve lifter and a method thereof are provided to improve the convenience in developing products of good quality by measuring time and conditions until a hydraulic valve lifter is normally operated in the initial start of an engine. CONSTITUTION: Equipment for checking recovery capacity of a hydraulic valve lifter(40) includes a check stand(50) where a bottom plate(50a) and a side plate(50b) are formed at right angles to each other, an operational element holder(60) fixed at the side plate of the check stand, a lift holder(70) fixed on the bottom place of the check stand having a mounting hole(70a) for mounting the hydraulic valve lifter, a cam(75) disposed at the upper part of the operational element holder for being rotated by a driving motor(74), a plurality of operational elements(80) inserted into a guide hole(60a) of the operational element holder and disposed between the cam and the hydraulic valve lifter for being moved up and down, and a displacement sensor(90) connected with each operational element for measuring the vertical displacement amount of each operational element.
