PURPOSE: A biaxially oriented polyester film and its preparation method are provided, to improve the abrasion resistance and the resistance against the falling-off of particles from a film. CONSTITUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film comprises the first film layer which is made by the polyester resin comprising 0.05-3 wt% of one or more spherical particles which is insoluble to polyester, is inert, has the mean particle size of 0.1-5.0 micrometers and is selected from the group consisting of calcium carbonate, dolomite, glass fiber, talc, mica, kaolin, barium sulfate, aluminium silicate, alumina, a copolymer of a monovinyl compound having one aliphatic unsaturated bond and a compound having two or more aliphatic unsaturated bonds, thermosetting phenol resin, thermosetting epoxy resin, thermosetting urea resin, benzoguanamine resin and fluororesin; the second film layer which is layered on the first layer and is made by the polyester resin comprising no particle; and the third film layer is layered below the first layer and is made by the polyester resin comprising no particle.
