OPTICAL FIBER DELAY LINE FILTER USING FIBER BRAGG GRATING

PURPOSE: An optical fiber delay line filter which can be used in high and low frequencies is provided according to an optical method, instead of photoelectric conversion. CONSTITUTION: An optical transmission system using an optical fiber delay line filter includes a light source(21); a signal generator(22); a modulator(23) for modulating the light received from the light source(21) according to a signal from the signal generator(22); an optical fiber filter connected to a coupler(24) to delay an optical pulse modulated by the modulator(23); and a detector(29) for detecting the delayed optical pulse. The optical fiber delay line filter comprises a Fiber Bragg Grating(FBG)(30) and an erbium-doped optical fiber(27), and may further comprise a piezoelectric transducer(26) for controlling reflectivity of the FBG(30); and a laser diode(28) for being injected to the Er-doped optical fiber(27).
