The method describes the disposal and storage of liquid and gaseous substances by channelling them under pressure into underground porous geological formations which are lying at a great depth under the earth using a deep disposal bore-hole and an injection pump plant. In the case of liquid and gaseous substances, after primary processing, the waste for pressure injection is channelled with the aid of a compression pump through a deep bore-hole and is stored in a deep geological formation far from the surface water table. In the case of storage of natural water resources, the invention is used to store surface water resources during the winter months and to pump them in the summer months. In the case of storage of natural gas, the invention is used for long- term storage of natural gas, replacing metal tanks on the surface, thus achieving improved economy and efficiency. The advantages of the method over conventional methods are: (I) Flexibility both as to quantity as well as quality of the receptacle. (II) A significant reduction in running costs. (III) Protection of the environment, particularly in sensitive tourist areas. (IV) Rapid installation. The time for completing the project is in the order of 3-4 months. |
