PURPOSE: A refrigerant expanding device for heat pump air conditioner is provided to reduce parts count and manufacturing cost and simplify structure by employing a single capillary tube for achieving pressure loss. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerant expanding device comprises a capillary tube(11) having a predetermined length and which is penetrated in a spiral manner such that the capillary tube has a directivity to allow the fluid to flow in one direction under a low resistance force and in opposite direction under a high resistance force. The capillary tube has a spiral penetration hole formed by connecting members having cone-shaped cross sections. The penetration hole penetrating through the capillary tube is formed to be asymmetric with each other from a center line in lengthwise direction of the capillary tube. The capillary tube with a spiral penetration hole causes different pressure losses in accordance with the refrigerant flow direction.
