PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily judge the plant activity while saving the labor of setting standard values through the selection of standardized trees whenever measuring by measuring outside air temperature and tree's water supply temperature at specific positions. SOLUTION: This method for judging plant activity is to measure (A) outside air temperature under the integrated evaluation of influences due to emission, wind, humidity and air temperature, (B) tree's water supply temperature at the root and (C) tree's water supply temperature at the upper part of the root, and to find the temperature difference among them. On this occasion, it is possible to judge that the plant activity is low when the rate T is high and the plant activity is high when the rate T is low by calculating the rate T of change from both variation T1 between the temperature B and the temperature C, and the variation T2 between the temperature A and the temperature B.
