PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a compact cordierite sintered product, capable of producing the compact cordierite ceramic by a conventional molding and sintering method using natural raw materials without adopting a special method. SOLUTION: This method for producing a compact cordierite sintered product comprises using natural talc, natural kaolin, and alumina or aluminum hydroxide as raw materials, grinding and mixing the raw materials in an average particle size of a sub-micron value or smaller, if possible, <=0.6 μm, molding the obtained raw material particles by a conventional method and then sintering the molded product by a conventional method. In order to obtain the compact cordierite sintered ceramic, the mixed raw materials are ground and mixed in an average particle size of a sub-micron value or smaller, if possible, <=0.6 μm. |
