PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish a method for matching the trigger threshold of an occupant crash protection device enabling certain response of threshold value even if the vehicle concerned is old. SOLUTION: A method for matching the trigger threshold (AS) of an occupant crash protection device, in particular of an automobile, is configured so that the trigger threshold (AS) is compared with a value depending upon the acceleration (v=∫adt) and a certain or a plurality of occupant crash protection devices are triggered when the trigger threshold (AS) is exceeded upward, wherein the trigger thresholds (AS1 and AS2) are corrected dependent upon the load conditioned by the vehicle age and working period. For example, an electronic clock and stored manufacture time and/or a working time counter and/or the electronic measured current value of running distance in kilometers can be utilized for estimating the load conditioned thereby with the vehicle age and working period and drawing out the correction value for the trigger threshold. |
